Carpe Canem and My Greyhound Cuff

Well, today is the big day, the auction benefiting Carpe Canem started at 9am. This was the first chance I would have to view my cuff that I donated to them and see what other great items they have listed. There are a ton of items that have been donated, from cups to t-shirts, collars to note cards and they all have different starting bids.

My cuff, which I sell for $75 starts at a mere $6 bid. This is your chance to get one of my cuffs at a great price! And you will be helping a great organization; the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas. This is a great time of year for auctions too, because you can start your Christmas shopping early. I have a few tough-to-shop-for family members whom love helping non-profits like this.... hmm... I saw a cute pair of rain boots that would be perfect for someone special.

I hope they raise a good amount of money so that they can continue their rescue and rehabilitation of greyhounds. And this could be your chance to get a great deal on a handmade Peyote stitched greyhound cuff.

I hope to have the link for the next greyhound rescue auction by the end of the week., benefiting a rescue group in Ohio... I will keep you posted.

Its great to hear about the benefit. I hope it works out well and that the price does get pushed up. I haven't had the chance to participate in a benefit in a while but the last time I did the person who purchased my item actually wrote me an email letting me know how much she liked the item. I never checked how much it auctioned off for but that made my day. :)

I hope it works out too, although now I wish I didn't look at the auction... I just expected a little more out of it since they've had the cuff for over a month and they held many auctions. Oh well... next time I won't look.

Update: after talking to some friends and mulling over all day, I'm just gonna suck it up and remember why I donated in the first place... for the dogs. Without groups like this, where would the dogs be? I hope they make a lot of money and are able to rescue more greyhounds. I don't care how much they make on the cuff because I know whoever gets the cuff will love it and they will be helping a great cause! So please disregard my earlier post. And if I sounded like a brat earlier, well... I can be a brat and I am also under the influence of someone's growing hormones.... as I am her mother, I can't get away from it.... so bear with me.
